10 SMALL POINTS FOR MAKING URBAN DIFFERENCE in process

1. Start small and start where it counts. There is no need for large scale actions to make a DIFFERENCE. By starting small actions become more precise and manageable, they become more strategic. Therefore there is a need to focus really in what matters. Start in your house, in your street, in your family or in your community. Small results are also a DIFFERENCE, many small starts in places where they could really count can create a huge URBAN DIFFERENCE.

2. Start with no pre-judgments of any kind. Be open to everything around you. The city, your neighborhood, your URBAN, is about discovering, learning and understanding. Pre-judgments lead to exclusion of people and most important of new ideas; URBAN DIFFERENCE is about involving, integrating and linking.

3. Start from your goal. Work backwards in a way that you create scenarios of where you want to go. By doing this you don’t condition your URBAN DIFFERENCE to your present situation or resources. It gives you the opportunity to answer with what and how you will achieve your goal. It opens the door to creativity and research and therefore new ideas. 5+5=10 but 10 can be equaled in infinitive ways.

4. Be creative and let your imagination fly. The best way to get to a good idea is to have many of them. Don’t be scare of being wrong and defer judgment. Work in groups so you will be able to build on others ideas and let others build on yours.
